Carol’s Daughter is seeking to fill the following New York City based opportunities:

Title: Web Designer

The Web Designer's role is to develop and execute online creative campaigns and initiatives in support of the Creative Director. This role will be a high level "hands on" creative role, supporting all web-based projects for marketing and consumer direct websites. The ideal candidate must have solid problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills and the ability to translate traditional ad campaign messages into digital mediums.

Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, develop and execute digital creative campaigns and initiatives in partnership with the Creative Director to ensure digital designs meet the proposed project needs.
Support all web-based and mobile projects for marketing and consumer direct web site, focusing on delivering user experience.
Prepare all digital material including drawings, storyboards and layouts.
Design and develop creative online materials to support marketing initiatives as well as creative platform ideas that bring the brand to life including emails banner ads and site graphics.
Ensure projects are on time, within budget and that brand specifications and standards are consistently met.
Contribute to video production by designing storyboards for web-based initiatives.
Stay abreast of industry and technological developments and how these development would impact services from a digital design perspective.
Share ideas and best practice advice with members of the Creative and Marketing teams.

Skills and Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have 5+ years experience and formal design training with solid typography, graphic and digital design skills.
Bachelors degree in graphic design and/commensurate experience
An in-depth knowledge of appropriate usage of the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, image optimization for web and other web authoring/motion graphic tools
General understanding of HTML, style sheets, web browser capabilities and user interface best practices.
Some understanding of HTML5, DHTML, JavaScript.
Knowledge of Social Platforms API (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare) as well as experience working with various online ad design specs and media requirements.
Knowledge of Ecommerce operations & CMS tools preferred
Digital fashion/beauty/consumer products background a plus
Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment
Ability to prioritize, multi task and handle multiple high importance projects at the same time.

Title: Store Manager

Description As a Store Manager: You will be responsible for managing and maximizing profitability, and sales of a company owned retail store. The Manager is accountable for the financial budget including the controlling of labor costs and overall expenses of the locations. Maintains and represents the company’s core values of service, quality and integrity to create total customer satisfaction

Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a retail specialty store with staff of 5 -7 employees
Ensure all operational responsibilities are carried out including but not limited to: opening and closing procedures, inventory control, receiving, merchandising, loss prevention and customer service
Recruiting, interviewing and hiring of staff
Participates in store selling efforts to ensure personal and stores sales and productivity goals are met.
Train, delegate and supervise staff to develop and maintain individual selling goals, customer service and product knowledge skills.
Conduct regular meetings with the store staff and maintain daily communications binder.
Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are upheld through out the entire store (selling floor, backroom and bathroom).
Partner with Human Resources to address and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations related to new hire/termination paperwork, benefits, disciplinary action, etc. in a timely matter.
Follow Loss Prevention guidelines throughout entire store (back office and selling floor). Participate in programs to reduce loss/shortage, report merchandise or cash discrepancies
Create and promote strong business relationships with vendors, mall management and local businesses
Participate in corporate initiated store events or create specific promotions based on the needs of the market or clientele

Requirements: The following qualification must be met to be considered for the position of Store Manager:
Previous retail management experience a must
College Degree preferred
Management and analytical skills are essential
Must work a min of 2 closing shifts per week
Demonstrates strong leadership ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous retail experience – any specialty beauty/hair product experience a plus
Computer literate (word, excel and lotus notes)
Able to work flexible hours
Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards
Ability to lift and carry 25lbs.
